Is introversion genetic?

~50% heritable

Twin studies consistently show introversion/extraversion is about 40–60% heritable — one of the most heritable personality traits. The remaining variance comes from non-shared environment (individual experiences). Identical twins raised apart show much higher introversion similarity than fraternal twins, confirming a strong genetic basis.
