How fast do fingernails grow?
Fingernails grow at an average rate of 3.5 mm per month — roughly 0.1 mm per day. Toenails grow about 1.5 mm per month. The middle finger grows fastest; the thumb slowest. Nails grow faster in summer, during pregnancy, and in the dominant hand. In extreme cases, they can grow 2–3 cm per month.
